Life is action in the sense that every movement, even every thought, sets the intent behind it in motion – in the same way a seed is planted and eventually opens and extends itself and bears fruit of its kind.  Jesus said it concisely: “Give, and it shall be given unto you.”  (Lk. 6:38) Giving with love sets in motion the pattern of all creation: the investment in life, growth, and love’s extension, the happy participation in God’s magnificent plan, and the assurance that all that is needed will be provided. Giving and receiving in action shifts the focus away from budgets and makes the connection between financial gifts (giving) which are actively transformed into meaningful ministry, service, and community support (receiving).
