Vestry Notes for January 10, 2023

  • · The Diocese has presented St. John’s with a candidate for the Priest in Charge position and the candidate will be interviewed shortly by the two outgoing and the two incoming wardens. The results of that interview will determine whether the candidate will be interviewed formally by the Vestry. If the candidate is not appropriate the application process will be reopened.

  • · The vestry approved the parish budget for 2023 and the budget will be presented to the parish at the Annual Meeting on January 29th. Inflation increases in necessary goods and services as well as rising interest rates have made it a challenging budget year.

  • · The slate of candidates for the Vestry, it’s officers and Delegates to Diocesan activities as developed by the Nominating Committee was accepted by the Vestry and will be presented to the parish at the Annual Meeting. A list of the nominees is available in the Warrant posting in the FYI and as part of the Warrant posted at the doors to the church.

  • · A Transition Team which will oversee necessary renovations to the rectory to prepare it for the Priest in Charge as well as welcome and orient the new Priest is being developed.
