Wednesday, February 17, Ash Wednesday
Almighty and everlasting God, you hate nothing you have made and forgive the sins of all who are penitent: Create and make in us new and contrite hearts, that we, worthily lamenting our sins and acknowledging our wretchedness, may obtain of you, the God of all mercy, perfect remission and forgiveness; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Wednesday, February 17 is Ash Wednesday. Find the readings here.
Dear friends in Christ,
please join us in beginning our observance of a holy Lent with the liturgy of Ash Wednesday. If you have ashes you wish to impose on yourself, you will have the opportunity to do so during the video. Please also consider as a Lenten discipline participating in one (or more) of these brief daily devotions:
Lenten Meditations from Episcopal Relief and Development
"Come Pray" from the Society of Saint John the Evangelist
40Form from Catalyst (targeted at young adults)
If you wish to try praying the Daily Office, this Web site lets you create a complete service, including the readings, tailored to your preferences.
