EDUCATION / LEARNING – What we do – How to be involved
- ADULT FORUM will begin again on Sept. 8 at 9:15 in the Thompson Room. This year, we’ll follow the theme of Abundance (as opposed to scarcity): not the “prosperity” gospel of the TV evangelist, but rather the sense of God’s provision for us and how that influences our relationship with God, our understanding and employment of our gifts, how we respond to events in the world around us and how we bring others into the profligate love of God. Our first session -Sept. 8- will focus on Rosh Hashanah (which will have happened on the fifth) and Yom Kippur (which will be observed on the fourteenth), with a look into celebrating the harvest as Jesus would have. This will orient us toward God, creation, the earth and its bounty from a first-century (and a bit of contemporary) Jewish perspective. This will be followed by two weeks of focus on Creation Spirituality, or meeting God in the world around us, led by Malcolm Henderson.
