Grace Center program for Cape Ann homeless is now open

We have committed to support the program activities of Grace Center, a non-profit organization founded to organize a day center for homeless people on Cape Ann. Each Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., homeless people will be able to come to St. John's, obtain an initial intake assessment from trained volunteers; and receive referrals for housing and other critically needed social services. Grace Center works closely with Action, The Open Door, Cape Ann Interfaith Commission, and Cape Ann Resource exchange. The program is also happening Tuesdays and Thursdays at other churches on Middle Street.

Congregation members interested in volunteering to help staff and serve the Center should contact Laurel Deery, 978-526-4852. Training will be provided. The shifts are four hours long. There are multiple ways to help Grace Center, if one wishes to be involved, but not necessarily a volunteer at the Center. Please keep this initiative in your prayers.
